PLANT SCIENCE / THE RHYTHM OF LIFE

Circadian PlantKeep time. Keep growing.

The sky changes. Your plant must anticipate it.
Synchronize its clock and carry today's carbon into tomorrow.

Three clock modules are out of phase. Bring each offset close to zero.

An Arabidopsis-inspired teaching model: modules group several proteins; phase controls, carbon units and growth rates are gameplay abstractions. The real clock has interlocking feedback loops and tissue-specific rhythms. Tokens, streaks, stars and blooms are game rewards, not biological predictions.

For the curious at heart. A pocket-sized collection of science-inspired games.
Made for a quick break, a little discovery, and one more round.

A garden that tells time

Play four accelerated days in 96 seconds, or choose untimed practice. The plant starts with misaligned clock modules.

  1. Tap the golden sunlight tokens in the garden during daylight to add carbon. At night, tap violet root buds to spend 4 carbon on growth. Keys 1–3 activate the visible tokens from left to right. Tokens expire after 5 seconds.
  2. Earn up to three stars each day: collect 3 sunlight tokens, feed 2 buds, and keep clock alignment at 85% or above for 4 seconds. Act within 4 seconds to build a streak up to 5×. Good clock alignment increases each action’s yield. Every two fed buds adds a decorative bloom.
  3. Tap − / + to move a module earlier / later toward 0 h. Keyboard: Q/A for morning, W/S for daytime, E/D for evening. A small remaining error is acceptable.
  4. The white dial hand is environmental time; colored hands are internal modules. Dawn light gently reduces phase error. Switch it off to observe free-running rhythms.
  5. Store carbon in daylight. Balanced mode budgets night reserves until dawn; pushing growth spends reserves faster and can cause starvation.
  6. At 48 and 72 seconds the light schedule shifts. Adjust all three modules to match the new cycle.

P pauses, M toggles music. Help and switching away from this tab pause play. Restart any time with Start.

Morning CCA1/LHY, sequential daytime PRRs, and evening TOC1 plus the ELF3/ELF4/LUX complex are grouped as teaching modules. They are not three independent biological knobs. Growth timing varies with species and conditions.
